Offshore Mounts

Whether you are mounting large turbine powered compressors, accommodation modules or smaller reciprocating equipment, the need to safely restrain the packages on the decks of fixed or floating platforms remains paramount. Allowing for the structural movements, thermal expansion and contraction and variable stiffness of foundation structures is the key function of this product.
Whilst our product allows for the expansion & contraction and deck movements without transferring these significant loads to the equipment, our product also provides vibration isolation and an effective barrier to the path of structural borne noise. Coupled with the very low profile of our mount design and the short project time scales, this makes our product the first choice throughout the industry.
Along with our product we supply a full technical support service throughout the design stage, installation and during product usage. This includes a full data book and installation manual with every installation.
In addition to the mounting of the modules we also supply a full range of exhaust and pipe work anti-vibration mounting systems. These vibration isolation systems will allow for the expansion and contraction of the exhausts and pipe work without transfer of loading. In addition our specialist anti-vibration mounts provide an extremely effective thermal barrier, thus preventing hand rails, ladders and attachments from becoming dangerously hot.
Areospace Mounts
Hutchinson Stop-choc design and manufacture aerospace mounts of the highest quality. Our solutions have been used extensively in the Aerospace and Defence market for over 35 years.
We have vast experience in designing, developing and manufacturing aerospace mounts to provide vibration isolation and noise reduction answers to a diverse range of challenges.
We carry out extensive finite element analysis on our products and have our own in house six degree of freedom analysis software to assist customers with their application requirements. We also have our own vibration and environmental test laboratory, providing you with the assurance that a Stop-choc mount will deliver results you can depend upon.
Naval Mounts
We design and manufacture high deflection naval shock mounts to protect equipment and instruments from shock and vibration.
Our Naval mounts provide excellent shock protection for:

We work closely with Naval Consultants, Designers, Shipbuilders and Equipment Suppliers and can offer our expertise in selecting the most suitable isolators for naval applications. Using proprietary software, we have the capability to model and simulate systems responses in 6 degrees of freedom to a variety of shock & vibration inputs including:

Drive Couplings
When transmitting torque from a drive to a driven shaft, Hutchinson Stop-choc’s extensive range of high quality flexible drive couplings provide the following functionality:
- Absorb and damp out irregularities in the transmitted torque Evenly distribute peak loads

Y Mounts
Y mounts offer similar shock protection to the X mount, with much improved vibration attenuation at higher frequencies. This dramatically reduces noise from equipment from travelling throughout the ship and out into the ocean beyond. Hutchinson Stop-choc lead the way with our extensive range of X and Y mount solutions.
Hutchinson Stop-choc have a dedicated X and Y type mount facility where we have designed and fabricated these mounts for many years. Our team of engineers are some of the best qualified with the most experience in the industry.
X Mounts
X mounts are manufactured in our purpose built X and Y mount facility. MoD approved X type mounts provide the best shock vibration protection available.
X type mounts were conceived to protect equipment carried on ships from shock and vibration caused by explosion underwater. X-mounts were designed and developed to protect ship-bourne equipment from vibrations and shock caused by underwater explosions. The mount generally gives better shock and vibration protection than any other mount presently approved for the MoD.
Shock Isolation
Hutchinson Stop-choc design and manufacture anti vibration mounts and anti vibration mountings of the highest quality. Our vibration isolation solutions have been used extensively in the Aerospace and Defence, Industrial, Marine and Offshore markets for over 35 years.
We have a wide range of standard products to meet the most demanding customer requirements. Where a standard product is not appropriate, Hutchinson Stop-choc can produce special anti-vibration mounts designed to meet customer specifications. Our mounts are manufactured from a broad range of materials covering all possible environmental, shock and vibration requirements. We often design and manufacture mounts to withstand extremes of temperature, in tight space envelopes and contamination from fluids.
Our anti vibration mounts are available in the widest range of materials from natural rubber offering high load capacity to highly damped silicones reducing amplification at resonance and sway space under shock conditions. The range of materials we use to construct our mounts include high performance silicon elastomers that work at temperatures of -54°C and neoprene and natural rubbers which provide durability and low creep in harsh environments. The use of our anti-vibration mounts increases equipment reliability and reduces vibration and noise, thus improving user comfort and performance.
